Floyd Maurice Kilgore, age 73, passed away on Thursday, April 11th, 2024, surrounded by loved ones in New Braunfels. He was born on June 6th, 1950, in Houston, Texas to the late Kennith Kilgore and Merline Griffin Marsh.
Floyd was a devoted husband to Barbara Blount Kilgore and a loving father to his children. He cherished his role as a grandfather. He found immense joy in spending time with family and sharing special moments with them.
During his life, Floyd proudly served in the Army from 1971 to 1976 and was decorated with the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Army Commendation Medal for his dedicated service to his country. Floyd also served as the Owner/ Operator of Sign Xpress out of Corpus Christi, Texas for 33 years up until his retirement on May 31st, 2019.
Floyd's passion for riding his Harley was evident to all who knew him. He and Barbara shared many wonderful moments attending Harley Rallies together. He also enjoyed friendly games of Ping Pong with his buddies.
Floyd is survived by his wife Barbara, their children Troy Kilgore (Harley Kilgore), Gary Kilgore, Jennifer Blount Salmans, and Brian Allan Blount (Stephanie Blount). Grandchildren Bradley, Matthew, Dylan, Emily, Tristan Smith, Kyree High, Jordan, Kara, Cole Kilgore, Hailey and Brandon Salmans and Afton and Aidan Blount and great-grandchildren Juliet, Trevor, and Hunter Smith. As well as his brother Kennith Kilgore Jr. from Houston, Texas. Floyd is proceeded in death by his parents Kennith and Merline.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Angels & Senior Living and Holy Savior Hope Hospice for their compassionate care during Floyd's final days.
