Fernando M. "Fred" Luna, 80, of Schertz, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2025. Fred was born on January 7, 1945, in Bexar County to Armando and Maria Luna. He was the proud first member of his family to earn a high school diploma, a testament to his determination and work ethic.

Fred was a devoted attendee of St. Monica's Catholic Church and a respected member of the Knights of Columbus. He dedicated 15 years of his life to working at the Randolph Air Force Base mess hall, where his colleagues and friends knew him as a kind and hardworking individual.

Fred's legacy lives on through his brothers, Jorge Luna and Rick Luna; his sister, Diana Monrrial; and his many nieces and nephews. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, deep faith, and the love he had for his family.

Funeral services will be held at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, followed by a burial at Schertz-Cibolo Cemetery. Fred's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the pallbearers: Jorge, Rick, Evan, Charlie, Jim, and Chris. A sincere thank you also goes to Schertz Funeral Home, the exceptional caregivers at One Heartland at San Antonio Wellness and Rehabilitation, and to all the friends and family who have supported us during this time.

Fred will be dearly missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
