Fermina Garcia

July 7, 1947 — June 2, 2010

Fermina Minnie Garcia, our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother was called home to be with her Lord Jesus on June 2, 2010 at the age of 62. Minnie was born on July 7, 1947 in Converse, TX. She lived all her life in Schertz, TX, where she was a beautician for 43 years, and owned and operated Shear Designs Salon on Main Street. Minnie enjoyed showing her love through cooking for her family and friends. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, father Francisco Garcia and mother Ernestina Garcia; brothers, Chris Garcia, Ramiro Garcia, and Mike Garcia. She is survived by her husband, Alfredo Garcia, Sr.; in-laws, Marcello Garcia, Sr. and Julia Garcia; children, Lisa Garcia, Alfredo Garcia, Jr., Andrew Garcia; daughters-in-law, Mallissa Missy Garcia and Paula Garcia; son-in-law to be Michael Mielke; sisters, Francis Hernandez, Cathy Guel, Mary Arreola; brothers, Leo Garcia, Lucas Garcia, Joe Garcia, Jesse Garcia, and Jimmy Garcia; grandchildren, Hadon McKee and Avery Garcia and granddogs, Shelby, Skippy, Isabella, and Hunter. A Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM (with a Rosary being Recited at 7:00 PM) on Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at Schertz Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at the Schertz Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at 2:30 PM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
