Evelyn A. Niland entered into eternal rest on April 13, 2016. Evelyn was born July 31, 1928, in Atlanta, Georgia, and has resided in Schertz, Texas, since 1962. She was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church. She was a devoted and loving Mom and Nana. Evelyn is preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, Joseph Andrew Niland; and daughter Kelly Niland Welling. Evelyn is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law's, Lynn and Bill Schwind; Jan and Rusty Marshall; Christy and Gary Whealton; sons and daughter-in-law's, Andy and Laura Niland; Arty and Debbie Niland; James and Dawn Niland; 13 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and her lifelong friends, Lydia Sanders and Father Emmet Carolan. A great accomplishment of Evelyn's was raising 7 children who each believed they were her favorite. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, April 14, 2016, at 7:00PM, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Friday, April 15, 2016, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christy Niland, who in Evelyn's memory, will go to a Casino and gamble in her Mother's honor, Good Catholic Church, 1063 E. Live Oak Rd., Schertz, TX 78154, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St.Jude St., Memphis, TN 38105 .
