Esther Deviney

December 19, 1920 — January 1, 2013

Esther M. Deviney was born on December 19, 1920 in Martindale, Texas to Arthur H. and Hertha (Bartling) Wiesepape,Sr. She moved to Ballinger, Texas at the age of 5 or 6, where she graduated from Ballinger High School, in 1944 she moved to San Antonio,Texas. Esther married Huber G. Deviney June 12, 1946. Their son Dale was born August 15,1955. She had a working career from September 1939 to February 28, 1990. For a period of five years was a stay at home wife and mother. She also was active in the PTA and San Antonio A & M Mother's Club. Esther enjoyed sewing,embroidery,crocheting and oil painting. She moved to Cibolo, Texas in 1988. Since there were no Lutheran Churches in Ballinger, She attended the 8th Street Presbyterian church, this was a small church where she had many wonderful memories. She transfered to St. Paul Evangelical Church from McKinley Methodist Church in San Antonio. Esther was preceded in death by her parents,brother and husband. She is survived by her son Dale Deviney of Cibolo, Texas. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the St. Paul Evangelical Church, 108 S. Main Street in Cibolo, Texas 78108. Private Inurnment will take place at San Fernando Cemetery #3 in San Antonio, Texas at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Evangelical or the charity of your choice.
