With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our loving mother Estelita, affectionately known as “Lita” to her friends, on Wednesday, February 5th, 2025. She died peacefully in her home in Schertz, Texas, surrounded by family and friends. Born in the Philippines on September 6, 1951; she was 74 years old.
Lita earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Sta. Teresita School of Nursing in the Philippines. She pursued and achieved her dream of becoming a registered nurse and exploring the world. She remained devoted to her family and friends, cherishing every connection throughout her life.
Lita had a deep passion for photography, capturing cherished memories from her travels and special moments with loved ones. She found joy in collecting figurines, cross-stitching, tending to her garden, and dancing. Above all, she treasured the laughter and love shared with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Ernesto (Nestor); her four children, Lea, Mary Ann, Ernest, and Philip; and her adored grandchildren, Hannah, Lauren, Elliot, Finn and Celina; and her siblings Alan and her sister Teresita, and many nieces and nephews. Lita was preceded in death by her parents, Dolores and Joventino Velasquez.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation in her memory.
Lita will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and love of life. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
