Elton Scheel

Elton Edward Scheel, born on July 20, 1939, of San Antonio, Texas, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, December 27, 2016, at the age of 77, after battling health issues for nearly 5 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Joyce Flugrath Scheel, two daughters, Dee Dee (Anthony) Perez of New Braunfels, and Beverly (Timothy) Covert of Blanco, two grandsons, Toby Covert and Anthony Perez III, two granddaughters, Taylor and Jordan Perez, eight sisters, Bernice (Wilbur) Friesenhahn, Alice (Clarence) Dolle, Angeline (Fred) Moos, Jeanette (JT) Mooney, Gladys (Ralph) Haecker, Joan (Claude) Mayer, Madelyn (James) Shodrok, Debbie (Chuck) Real, two brothers, Clarence (Jean) Scheel and Harvey Scheel, and many nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Adolph Joseph and Mary Schumann Scheel. Visitation will be Monday, January 2, 2017, at Schertz Funeral Home from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. The funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Selma, TX, with burial to follow at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park, New Braunfels, TX.
