Elroy Krueger

Elroy Krueger born February 5, 1940 to Walter and Leonie Krueger, in Converse, Texas, died September 25, 2015, in Tilden, Texas. He was a tackle shop owner, professional fisherman and fishing guide for many years. Elroy competed locally in the San Antonio Bass Club, in the BASS Masters tournaments 1970-1981 and Bass Champs tournaments in more recent years, along with many others. He owned and operated Elroy's Fishin' Hole tackle shop in Universal City and later at Choke Canyon Lake; he also did fishing reports on local radio stations. Fishing was Elroy's life, he was most happy when he was out in his boat, casting a line and waiting for a bite. Elroy was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Mary Ann Krueger. He is survived by sisters, Evelyn, Laurie, Shirley (Randy) Moehring; brothers, Melvin (Irene), Raymond, Walter, Jr. (Barbara), Edmond (Lema), Johnny (Eileen), Tommy (Pam), Danny and Donny Krueger. He had 18 nieces and nephews and numerous grand-nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Wednesday, September 30, 2015 from 5:00PM until 9:00PM at Schertz Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will be Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Schertz Funeral Home at 10:00AM with a procession leading to Redeemer Church Cemetery.
