Elizabeth Anzek

Elizabeth Mosebar Anzek, a long time resident of Garden Ridge, TX passed away peacefully at home on February 25, 2013 from cancer complications, her loving husband, Charles, was faithfully by her side. Elizabeth was born in Seattle, WA on October 1, 1954. Her father was an Army Colonel and as such the Mosebar family traveled to various Army Posts. Elizabeth made many friends throughout her military childhood, many of whom she continued to stay in touch with. Elizabeth held a Masters Degree from Univ. of Missouri. She was a principal within SAISD who loved her work and continued to contribute to the education of many even after retirement. Elizabeths hobbies included beading, gardening, fashion and antiquing. True to her educator roots and love of fashion, Elizabeth taught beading classes around the San Antonio/Garden Ridge area. Her jewelry creations were beautiful and unique masterpieces, just like her. She was a loving friend and wife to Charles; a wonderful, understanding mother to her stepchildren, Michelle C. Anzek Staley (Shane) of Jourdanton, TX and Matthew C. Anzek (Fernanda Carsalade) of San Antonio, TX. She is preceded in death by her father, Col Robert H. Mosebar, MD, (USA, Ret). She is also survived by her mother, Elinor Young Mosebar; brothers Howard Mosebar (Donna) of Cedar Park, TX, Richard B. Mosebar of Hawaii; sister Catherine Johnson (Larry) of Alamo Heights, TX; grandchildren Abby Anzek, Charlotte Staley, Zachary Staley, Noah Anzek, and Logan Anzek; nephews Kevin Mosebar, Grant Johnson (Katy) and Glenn Johnson; brother-in-law George Anzek (Leanna) of Xenia, OH; sisters-in-law Maribeth Friedlander of Englewood, OH, Mariann Patterson (Avery) of Conroe, TX, Julie Orr (Bruce) Bridgeton, MO. Visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday, March 6, 2013 from 4-8 p.m. at Schertz Funeral Home, 2217 F.M. 3009, Schertz, TX 78154. Memorial services will also be held at Schertz Funeral Home, Thursday, March 7 at 10:00 am. Elizabeth will be laid to rest at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in a private family service. In lieu of flowers, Elizabeth requested that donations be made in her name to St. Judes Children Hospital. Elizabeth will be forever loved and missed.
