Eligah Eli Lee Jernigan, age 23 of Schertz, Texas, passed away on May 21, 2010 in San Antonio, Texas. Eli was born on March 24, 1987 in Fort Hood, Texas. After graduating from Samuel Clemens High School he attended Texas State Technical College for Welding and was employed by Iron Workers of America. Eli was preceded in death by brother, Shawn- Michael Christian Jernigan; paternal grandfather, Otis Jernigan and maternal grandfather, Hiram Johnson. Eli is survived by his wife, Tiffany Herrerra Jernigan; parents, Otis Ray and Debra Jernigan; in-laws, Andy and Joylene Herrera; maternal grandmother, Repsie Johnson; paternal grandmother, Joyce Jernigan; brothers, Travis K. Jernigan & wife, Brandi, Jesse Ryan Jernigan & wife, Tila; sister, Chrystina J. Straughan & husband, Jason; nieces, Cadee, Raelyn and Cheyenne Jernigan; nephews, Shaun Jernigan and Michael Straughan. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 24, 2010 from 5:00 until 9:00 PM at Schertz Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at Schertz Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Marion. Memorial donations may be made to: Eli Jernigan Memorial Fund at Randolph Brooks Federal Credit Union. The donations will go towards medical bills and final expenses.
