Elgin Friesenhahn

Elgin Benno Friesenhahn, born March 27, 1929 in Schertz, TX, passed away on May 18, 2018 in Selma, TX at the age of 89. Elgin was preceded in death by his wife Pearl Helen Ludwig, parents Benno and Elvira Friesenhahn, son Michael Friesenhahn, and great-grandsons Brennan and Trystan Friesenhahn. He is survived by his son Garry Friesenhahn, daughter in law Janice Friesenhahn, sister Annie Findeisen, grandchildren Bradley (Kelly) Friesenhahn, Erin (Cody) Furlong, great-grandchildren, Kaydan and Kieran Friesenhahn, Trace, Jackson, and Makenna Furlong. Elgin served in many areas of our community, including: being on the City Council, the former Mayor of the City of Selma, the Board of Directors of the Retama Development Corporation, President of GEM Materials in Selma, TX, and also a Life Member of the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, in Selma, TX. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm at the Schertz Funeral Home, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00pm. Funeral Service will be conducted on Wednesday, May 23, 2018, 10:00am, at the Schertz Funeral Home Chapel with the interment to follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
