Elenora Scheel

March 24, 1918 — March 15, 2013

Elenora May Scheel, 94, of Marion, TX went to be with her Heavenly Father to live eternally on Friday, March 15, 2013. She had a long, blessed life and her death was peaceful with no pain. She was the 2nd child of August and Olga Petsch Weber born in Blanco, Texas on March 24, 1918. She graduated from Blanco High School completing the full eleven years as was provided at that time. She married Eugen T. Scheel, a member of a family she had known for many years, on November 25, 1937. Elenora lived most of her married life in Marion until she became a residence of Sundance Healthcare Inn. Here she resided the last three and 1/2 years of her life due to a broken hip. Elenora was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Marion where she spent many hours with the other ladies quilting beautiful quilts to auction each year at their festival. She also provided many other handcrafted items for sale. She was a lifetime member of the Ladies Guild. She did volunteer work at the Marion Community Library. She was an honorary lifetime member of the Marion PTA. Elenora is survived by her daughter Margaret Stapper and husband Ralph of Ft. McKavett, her son Frank and wife Joyce of Uvalde, her daughter-in-law Geraldine Scheel of Live Oak, her son-in-law Wayne Korpi of New Braunfels, her daughter Agnes Williams of New Braunfels, her son Henry of Marion, her daughter Leona Davenport of Marion, and her daughter Carolyn Stoll and husband John of Montgomery. She is also survived by her brother Stephen Weber and wife Evelyn of Bastrop and her sister-in-law Irene Weber of San Antonio. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and her friends in Marion. She is preceded in death by her husband Eugen, her son Charlie, her daughter Rose Korpi, her granddaughter Paula, her father and mother, August and Olga Weber, her sister Lillian Cox, and her brothers Frank, John, Lawrence and Walter Weber. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 PM Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Schertz with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. Wednesday, March 20th visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 AM with the funeral mass beginning at 10 AM at Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Selma Cemetery No. 2.
