Effie Schrader

Effie Marie Schrader was born on Sep 19, 1923 to parents John Watkins and Vada Ewing Watkins in Brazoria, Texas. She died on Dec 15, 2011. She is preceded in death by Edward W. Schrader, her husband of 43 years, and sisters Lee Plitt (Watkins) and Margie Ingram (Watkins). Surviving family members include Vada M Stidham of Schertz, Texas, Susan L McIntire of San Antonio, Texas and son John N. Schrader of Kenosha, Wisconsin. Surviving grandchildren include: Brandy LoVaglio (Schrader), Nicklaus Schrader, Stacey L. Schrader, Glenn E. Stidham, Shane L. Stidham as well as numerous great grandchildren. Effie was a homemaker her entire married life, working part time when the family was in need. Effie loved camping, fishing, gardening, sewing, cooking and going on trail rides in South Texas with her husband and children. She was a woman, who loved everyone, Held no grudges, And was very forgiving. Red was her favorite color. She loved her little dog, Lil Bit . She was proud of her Native American heritage (Cherokee). She would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. She had a HEART as big as TEXAS! Family will accept friends from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Thursday, December 22, 2011 at Schertz Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, December 23, 2011 at the Schertz Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
