Edwin Lee Berry of Converse, Texas, passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2009 at age 98. He was born in Lufkin, Texas. He is preceded in death by wife Earlene Berry; his parents John Franklin and Ora (McCoy) Berry; grandson David Thorpe; and sister Lorene Kerr. He is survived by his daughters, Martha Thorpe & husband Ed of San Antonio, Texas; and Lee Ann Johnson & husband Wayne of Odessa, Texas; nieces, Karen Weaver & husband John Houston and Jane Ann Hudgins & husband Bill; nephew, Gary Smith & wife Judy; grandchildren, Anne South & husband Patrick, Courtney Johnson, and Sarah Viscardi & husband Mike, and great-grandchildren Harrison South, Rebecca South, Henry Viscardi, and Caroline Viscardi. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at Schertz Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at Universal City United Methodist Church in Universal City, Texas. Interment will be on Saturday, September 26, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Berry Cemetery in Lufkin, Texas.
