Edwin Bannister, Jr.

April 4, 1929 — October 18, 2019

Edwin Eugene Bannister, Jr., age 90, passed away on October 18, 2019 in Schertz, Texas. He was born to Edwin & Vera Bannister on April 4, 1929 in Tuttle, Oklahoma. Edwin proudly served 26 years in the United States Air Force. He was able to travel to many places around the world including, Iceland, Japan, Thailand and Korea. His second retirement was with Mesa Petroleum. Edwin will be remembered for having great integrity, and for always putting his family first.

Edwin was preceded in death by his loving wife: Hope G. Bannister; son: John A. Whiteley; sisters: Catherine, Merle and Marilyn; and parents. He is survived by daughters: Cathy Watley & husband, Ken and Vivian Lee; 6 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Graveside Services, with full military honors, will be held at 9:15AM on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, Shelter #2.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital .
