Edward “Eddy” Arnold Salinas, a life-long resident of San Antonio, Tx, passed away on September 16, 2021, after a year-long battle with Cancer.
Eddy was survived by his wife, Kathy Lynn Salinas, his parents Otto Salinas Jr. and Pauline G. Salinas, his brothers and sister, Alex Salinas, and his wife Cathy Salinas, Virginia M. Salinas, Charlie Salinas, Christopher Salinas, his brother-in-law William Howland whom he loved dearly and his sister-in-law Rebecca Gentrup (Mike). Although Eddy didn’t have any children of his own, he had great love for his dogs Oliver and Tucker. He treated and loved all his nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews as his own.
Eddy’s love for his family was like no other! He made it a point to visit his mom and dad almost daily even if it was only to drop off a few lottery tickets for dad. His mom started calling him “The Scratch Man” because he would bring over so many scratch-off lottery tickets. His great-nieces and great-nephew’s face would light up when Uncle Eddy came around not only because they loved him but he would also give them a “Little Skoal Money”. Eddy was especially proud of his great-nephew Kaleb who recently joined the Navy.
Eddy’s true passion was music! From recording music with his brother Chris to making his mark on the local rock community when he played with The Dave Wagner Band, King’s Ransom, and Hazardous in the 80’s and 90’s there’s no doubting his love for music. He was an avid Yankees and Ravens fan and although he would probably never admit he was a Cowboys fan too.
Even thru the toughest of times Eddy’s big heart, thoughtfulness, and caring for others never diminished. He made it a point to take breakfast to the nurses that took care of him because he said he knew they were always busy.
We know Eddy would like to thank Dr. Ronald Drengler and Wendy and his staff for all they did for him.
Family, Music, Sports, and his dogs were the foundation of everything Eddy embodied. He will forever be missed and remain in our hearts always.
