Edward Brangan

August 7, 1939 — October 23, 2018

Edward (Eddie) Brangan, husband of Patricia (Pat), passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at the age of 79. He was born in San Antonio. Eddie was one of the most gentle, loving, and caring persons you could ever meet. He was the one called when someone needed help of any kind.

Eddie and Pat were high school sweethearts. He went to Central Catholic High School in San Antonio and met Pat when he trespassed across the street to Providence High School where she attended. Four years later, they married in San Antonio. They were fortunate to receive special Most Holy Apostolic Blessing as a pledge of divine graces and favors. They were blessed with 58 years of wedded bliss.

Eddie followed in his father's footsteps in the oil industry. He worked his way up from menial jobs, truck driver, to warehouse manager and supervisor. Later he enjoyed ranching and hay bailing round bales. He enjoyed animals, especially cattle and horses, and living in Marion TX. When his health started failing, he and Pat moved to Schertz and have resided there about 15 years. Another fine place to live. Additionally, Eddie loved his country and served in the National Guard and Army.

Eddie had a passion for cars - old and new. He was an auto enthusiast and in his younger days, belonged to a hot rod club where he and Pat enjoyed going on runs and earned several trophies for their efforts. He spent hours rebuilding and restoring vehicles. It broke Pat's heart when he sold them.

Eddie and Pat are "cradle Catholics" and are members of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Schertz. He has been a member of the Knights of Columbus for 54 ½ years and served the church and the Knights of Columbus in various ways throughout the years.

Our comfort is knowing he is in Our Father's arms and not suffering pain anymore. We will miss him. May he rest in peace.

Eddie was preceded in death by his sister Kathleen Smith. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Patricia (Pat) Brangan; sisters Mary Ellen Wilkerson & husband David, and Martha Sue Yourman & husband Wayne; sister-in-law Marian Otte; brother-in-law Claude Towers, Jr (recently deceased) & wife Dot; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
