Eduardo Eddie Chapa, born on January 18, 1945, passed away on October 17, 2012, at the age of 67. He graduated in 1965 from Fox Tech High School then joined the United States Army, serving in Vietnam in 1968. Later, he worked as a machine operator. Eddie loved dancing, good foods, friends, family, and taking it easy. His parents, Juan and Elisa Chapa, father and mother-in-law Alfred and Maria C. Rodriguez, and brother-in-law, Federico Rodriguez, preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife of 41 plus years, Norma J. Chapa; in-laws, Mary Rodriguez, Alfred Rodriguez, George Rodriguez, and John Rodriguez and his wife, Margaret; 12 godchildren, 8 nieces and nephews, 18 great nieces and nephews, 1 great-great nephew, cousins, and a host of friends. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 22, 2012, at Schertz Funeral Home, from 4:00PM until 9:00PM, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00PM. The Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, October 23, 2012, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, at 9:15AM. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with United States Army Honors. Heartfelt thanks to my wonderful neighbors, The Davenports.
