Edline Boenig

Edline Edna Boenig passed away on December 5, 2014 at the age of 88. She was born on March 17, 1926, near Marion, Texas to Edgar L. Weyel and Louise Pfannstiel Weyel. She married Lennert L. Boenig on September 3, 1947, and they enjoyed 67 years together. Edline and her husband farmed all their married lives near Converse, Texas. She was very active in the community and served others though organizations including the Converse Grange, Hermann Sons, 4-H and St. Paul's Evangelical Church. Edline was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who always put the needs of others ahead of her own. She was a great teacher and role model to her children and grandchildren personifying strong Christian faith, unconditional love, honesty, encouragement, and hard work. Her final words were those of thankfulness for her life and that nothing is more important than our Love for the Lord and for one another. Her dedication and selflessness to her family and many friends made her a special person, loved by all. Edline is survived by her husband, Lennert, and their three children: daughter, Kathryn Miller with husband Ray Miller and their children, Chad Miller and Candace Miller; son, Dan Boenig and his son Mark Boenig; and son, James Boenig with wife Karen Leonhardt Boenig and their daughters, Meghan Boenig, Jessica Boenig and Amy Boenig. She is also survived by her two brothers, Monroe Weyel and Allan Weyel. Visitation will be held at the Schertz Funeral Home Chapel (2217 FM 3009 Schertz, TX) on Thursday, December 11, 2014 from 5:00PM-8:00PM. Funeral Services will be at St. Paul Evangelical Church (108 S. Main St, Cibolo, TX) on Friday, December 12, 2014 at 10:00AM with interment to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park. A reception will follow at the Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul Evangelical Church, Cibolo, Texas.
