Edelthrodis Madarang

Edelthrodis “Edel” Madarang, age 87, of Cibolo, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2024, surrounded by her family in her home in Goodyear, Arizona.

Edel was born in Waiakea-Uka, Camp 8, South Hilo, Hawaii on June 21, 1936, to Dalmacio and Faustina Salomon. She graduated from Laupahoehoe High School in June 1954 and Honolulu Technical School where she completed Cafeteria Management in June 1956. She was married to Sylvester Madarang on March 23, 1957, for 63 years. She was a very caring and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She ensured her family was always happy, safe, and well taken care of during and after her husband’s Air Force career as they traveled the world.

She is survived by her children Vanessa Spencer (William) of Schertz, TX, Vera Kaber of Cibolo, TX, Wanda Madarang of Goodyear, AZ, and Sheldon Madarang of Oklahoma City, OK; her grandchildren Dustin Spencer (Jennifer) of San Antonio, TX, Eric Spencer (Jordan) of Georgetown, TX, Meagan Kaber (Chester) of Everett, WA and Alex Madarang (Josh) of Oklahoma City, OK; her sister-in-law, Felisa “Fely” Rosario of Kohala, HI; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Sylvester Madarang.
