Dorothy Emma Earley

Dorothy Emma Earley was born in Albert Tx on January 1st, 1935, to Alvin and Tillie Knoll. She was the second oldest of 8 children. In the 10th grade, Dorothy left school to stay home and take care of her younger brothers and sisters when their mother had started working again. In the winter of 1953, she met the love of her life Claude Scott Earley at a dance. They soon got married in October 1954 and were married until Claude’s passing in 1994. In 1957 she gave birth to her son Calvin Ray Earley and 3 years later, in 1960 she gave birth to her daughter Cindy Kay Earley Stoltz. In 1978 after her children were grown, she began working in a daycare, followed by 14 years working at Solo Serve in San Antonio Tx. When she retired from Solo Serve in December of 1997, she spent her days at home caring for her two grandchildren Jilly and Grant Stoltz until they were school age. Dorothy enjoyed gardening, spending time with her cat, and her weekly Thursday trips to the beauty shop.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Tillie Knoll, her brothers Alvin Knoll Jr, Alfred Knoll, Arthur Jerome Knoll and sister Ruby Karen. She is also preceded in death by her husband Claude Scott Earley. She is survived by her sisters Helen Triesch and Leona Carlton, and brother Eddie Knoll. She is survived by her two children Calvin Ray Earley and Cindy Kay Earley Stoltz, Grandchildren Jilly Michelle Stoltz Foss (and her husband Richard Foss) and Grant Harrison Stoltz and great-granddaughter Izzy Ray Stoltz. Dorothy was very loved and will be missed by all.

Services for Dorothy Earley will be held on Wednesday April 9, 2025, at Schertz Funeral Home. Memorial visitation will begin at noon and the service to follow at 1pm.
