Doris Jansma
May 1, 1922 — August 23, 2012
Doris Jansma, 90, Cibolo, Texas passed away August 23, 2012. She was born on May 1, 1922, in Milltown, Georgia, to Eugene and Georgia Giddens. She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Jansma. Ms. Jansma was an active member of the St. Paul Evangelical Church of Cibolo, Texas and GRASP Senior Citizens Center, Converse, Texas until she moved to Hilltop Nursing Home in Kerrville, Texas in 2010. She had an abiding love in the teachings of Christ. She loved music, playing her autoharp, piano and organ with her heart. Her ability to laugh and sing will be sorely missed by all. The joy she found in the beauty of flowers was something she was able to share with everyone around her. There was always a kind and gentle place in her heart for animals and birds. Ms. Jansma was ready to help those in need and she lived a life of service to her family. Despite macular degeneration she had an ear to listen, a hand to hold, a heart to share, and always cared. Blind in her later years, she loved to listen to movie classics. She survived by her three daughters and son-in-law, Latrelle Batten of High Point, North Carolina, Miriam Johnston of Kerrville, Texas, Rosalyn and Richard Thiele of Cibolo, Texas; two sons and daughters-in-law, Floyd David and Mary Sue Geiger of Danielsville, Georgia, John Daniel Geiger of Kerrville, Texas; ten grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
