Donald Singley
April 23, 1946 — July 12, 2015
Our loving husband and father, MSgt Donald "Don" Edward Singley, United States Air Force, (Ret.), born on April 23, 1946, passed away on July 12, 2015, at the age of 69. Don was born in Pennsylvania to loving parents, not of wealth but of hard times that even he did not know. He was taught how to work, how being truthful and honest was worth more than money. Don joined the Air Force right out of high school and gave the service 20 years. He said at that time he didn't want to move again, so we settled here, built a house and worked hard to be able to do things. He loved helping people and would do anything he could in that way. In every job he had he did it the way that was correct and stood for what he believed. Not wanting to be the center of attention, he usually stayed in the background. Above all, he loved his family, his church, and helping out where he could. Don had many friends, and will be greatly missed by all. His parents, John F. and Mabel L. Singley, preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Barbara W. Singley; son, Mark D. Arnold and his wife, Darla Ann; 4 grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2015, at 11:00AM, at The Country Church, 1005 FM 78 W, Marion, Texas, 78124, with Pastor Butch Ikels officiating. The Graveside Service will be held on Friday, July 24, 2015, at 11:15AM, at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, with United States Air Force Honors. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Don's name to The Country Church Attic Ministry.
