Donald Martin

October 20, 1924 — June 5, 2015

Donald "Don" E. Martin, born October 20, 1924 in Joliet, IL, passed away on June 5, 2015 in San Antonio, TX, at the age of 90. Donald's career was in mechanical engineering, he was also a volunteer for many groups some including his Episcopal church, he was part of the Kiwanians, and a member of the Toastmasters, he also traveled with Alamo Honor flight No. 2 to Washington, D.C. for WWII vets in November of 2010. Don is preceded in death by his first wife Anna Lois Martin; daughter, Shirley Bratton; parents, E.J. and Kathryn Martin; sister, Jean Redding. He is survived by his wife Florence Martin; children, Susan Johnston, Cynthia Martin, Skip Martin, Connie Baugh, and Dawn Anderson; siblings, Jay Martin and Ben Moravitz; and also 10 grandchildren and 7 great- grandchildren. A Memorial service will be held on Monday, June 15, 2015, 9:00am, at St. Margaret's Episcopal Church, 5310 Stahl Rd, San Antonio, TX 78247. The interment will follow at Ft Sam Houston National Cemetery, with US Army honors. In lieu of flowers family request donations be made to the St. Margaret's Episcopal Church.
