Dino Bergamin

June 14, 1940 — March 7, 2018

Dino Bergamin , 77, of Cibolo , TX, passed away at the Northeast Methodist Hospital in Live Oak, TX on Wednesday, March 7, 2018.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Isabel Jacinta Bergamin , his daughters Margaret Bergamin Epperson and Sandra Bergamin Hogue, and his older brother, Lucio Bergamin .

The memorial service will be held at Northeast Bible Church, 19185 FM 2252, Garden Ridge, TX, 78266 on March 24, 2018, at 3pm .

Dino was born in Venice, Italy to Lino and Guiseppina Bergamin . He grew up on the Venetian island of Murano , where his working career began at age 9 as an apprentice in a glass factory. In his twenties, he left Italy to pursue work opportunities in London, England. It was there that he met Isabel and married her three weeks later! In England, Dino and Isabel welcomed their two daughters, Margaret and Sandra. In 1980, the family emigrated to the U.S. and settled in Virginia to help manage Lucio's thriving Italian restaurant, Geranio . After retirement, Dino and Isabel relocated to Texas to be near their family, including their five grandchildren.

Dino will be remembered for his ready smile and his loving generosity. He always picked the perfect greeting card, enjoyed watching professional soccer and tennis, and truly appreciated good food and wine with his loved ones. Dino deeply loved his family and was loved deeply in return; he even brought many smiles to the employees and other customers in his daily visits to the local grocery store, HEB. He will be greatly missed by all of us, including the birds and squirrels whom he fed daily.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his honor to the American Cancer Society.
