Dianna Lynne Whitney-Esquivel, born September 7, 1953 in Corpus Christi, TX, passed away at the age of 68 at home in Cibolo, Texas after being cared for by her caring and devoted family over the last few years. She is preceded in death by her father Roy Lee Whitney.
Being a very private person Dianna did not want to put her illness out there to the public. While her fight has sadly come to an end; she is with our Lord and Savior, free from pain and suffering. Growing up in the Corpus Christ area, Dianna had a passion, love and talent for cake decorating, sewing, and handcrafted needle projects. She was truly an artist and there wasn't a member of the family who didn't receive an elaborately decorated cake, a handmade outfit, or a one of a kind needle craft project. She later moved to San Antonio to be closer to her children and worked for a number of well known cake decorating shops prior to her retirement. Dianna was a devoted and loving daughter, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend and will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her mother Virginia Whitney; siblings Stephen Whitney, Liz Craft, Kimberly Neely, Billy Whitney and Wayne Murdoch; daughters Carol Buell and Michelle Avery; grandchildren Khristan Alexander, Alayna Alexander, and Savannah Tumbarello; great grandchildren Ayden Ainsworth, Jayleigh Spencer II, and Benjamin Alexander; and nieces and nephews Nicole Suttle, John Craft, Kyla Neely, Stephen Whitney Jr, Danielle Pena, Waylon Douglas Mann and Justin Garrett Mann
Our family would like to give extra thanks and bless those who were there for Dianna, including Dr. Antonio Anzueto, UT Palliative Care, UT Home Health & Physical Therapy, her caregivers Paul Buell, Caroline Neil, Serafina and Daniel Favarro, as well as her mother and sisters, and dear friend Virginia. Your love and support lifted her up in ways that gave her so much joy. We are forever grateful for all your support.
