It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Desere Valeria Franco, age 45, of Schertz, Texas. Desere, born in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Jerry and Melida Bagwell, brought light and joy to all who knew her.
From an early age, Desere captivated those around her with her radiant smile, dancing with her father, and imaginative tea parties with her sister, Gio. She later found lifelong love and devotion in Nicholas Franco, with whom she shared nearly 27 years of partnership and 20 years of marriage. Together, they built a beautiful family, raising their three cherished children—Caleb, Silas, and Amariah.
Desere's unwavering determination was evident throughout her life. At just 15 years old, she faced a challenging autoimmune disease, which led to a liver transplant. Against all odds, she survived and thrived. She went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in medical file decoding from Southwest University, balancing her career at Conviva Medical Center with her roles as a devoted wife and mother.
Desere's life was enriched by her love of family, baking, crafting, gardening, and hosting game nights. A horror movie enthusiast, K-drama fan, and passionate singer and dancer, she brought joy even in moments of struggle. Her laughter, love, and boundless compassion left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving husband, Nicholas; her children, Caleb, Silas, and Amariah; her mother, Melida Bagwell; her siblings, Dapheny Lee, Charles Bagwell, Gio Walters, and Jerry Bagwell; and her beloved pets, Loki and Khaleesi. She is preceded in death by her father, Jerry Bagwell Sr., and her niece, Brisa Bagwell.
Desere’s achievements in life were extraordinary, not only for her professional and personal milestones but for her courage, resilience, and the love she poured into her family and community.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to all who have supported them during this difficult time.
