Deborah Bush

May 5, 1952 — July 30, 2011

Deborah Kay Bush of San Antonio, TX was taken into the arms of the Lord Saturday, July 30th at 9:25am, succumbing to a devastating stroke, surrounded by her loving family at St. Luke's Baptist Hospital. She was only 59. She was preceded in death by her father John Luther Broadley, her mother Francis Edmonds Broadley, and numerous cherished pets. She was the Medical Systems Specialist at Fort Sam Houston where she was employed since arriving to San Antonio in 1993. Her family and numerous friends are deeply saddened by the unexpected passing of such a beautiful person in the prime of her life. Anyone fortunate enough to have known her knows the incredible love she had for God, family and animals. She was a woman of great faith and did her duty as a Christian by sharing her faith with countless people through many different outlets. Her family will remember her as the selfless, loving mother and Nana that she was, always putting the needs of others before her own. Family, friends, and co-workers alike will miss her amazing cooking. She was always the one nominated to make cakes for birthdays and other special occasions. She was the smartest woman I've ever known. We always told her she could win big on jeopardy. Along with her kind heart, intelligence and good cooking she had a quick wit and sometimes quirky sense of humor. She had no problem bringing a smile to anyones face. Anyone who spent any amount of time with her would hear all about her grandbabies as she was a very proud Nana. She will also be remembered for her immense love for all animals. She is survived by her children Sy, Lindsay and Christopher Bush; her grandchildren Jordan, Joshua, JMatthew, and Jacob all of San Antonio; her sister Susan Gedutis of Houston, her four dogs Lucy, LuAnne, Jasper and Bailey, two grandpuppies Squish and Lokey and countless friends. Thank you to all who prayed for her recovery when she was in the ICU and to those who loved her during her life here. If you wish to make a donation in her honor please make them to the ASPCA or similar organization or to Metropolitan Community Church at 611 E. Myrtle, San Antonio, TX 78212. You can only have one mother Patient, kind and true; No other friend in all the world will be the same to you. When other friends forsake you, to mother you will return. For all her loving kindness, she asks nothing in return. As we look upon her picture, sweet memories we recall of a face so full of sunshine, and a smile for one and all. Sweet Jesus, take this message to our dear mother up above; Tell her how we miss her, and give her all our love.
