Dean Serfling

April 4, 1959 — September 21, 2013

Dean Allan Serfling, born on April 4, 1959 in Deer River, Minnesota, passed away on September 21, 2013 at the age of 54 in Marion, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents Maynard and Lorraine Serfling, brother Herbert Serfling, and sisters Marilyn and Chris. Dean is survived by his wife Annee Untereiner, son Bryan Untereiner his wife Gina, daughters; Stephanie Untereiner her husband Will Hubbs, and Laci Martinez her husband Alvin, sisters; Paula, Marsha, Judy, seven grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was an avid Hunter and fishermen. His children, and providing for them made his world go round. The only thing that brought him more joy than being in the deer blind was being surrounded by his family, the whole noisy bunch. He had a wicked sense of humor and was a perpetual asshole that would just melt as soon as one of his babies said his name. He was his wifes best friend and will never be replaced. Despite countless hours of medical procedures that were followed by multiple different and awful side effects, Deans devotion to provide for his wife and children, as well as his dedication to being a loyal employee kept Dean going to work for all but the last few weeks of his battle with cancer. A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2013 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Schertz Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be conducted on Friday, September 27, 2013 12:00noon, at Schertz Funeral Home, with interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers family request that donations be made to the the Texstar Bank in memory of Dean Serfling or American Cancer Society.
