David Gille

October 19, 1964 — November 25, 2016

David Lawrence Gille went to be with the Lord on November 25, 2016 in San Antonio, TX at the age of 52.

He was born to Lawrence Eugene Gille and Mary Louise Sonnee on October 19, 1964 in South St. Paul, MN. He is survived by his daughter, Austin Collins, ex-wife and best friend, Tracy Lepper Gille, sister, Theresa Gille, as well as many close family members and friends

David L. Gille was a loving man, always caring for others before himself. He was a kind-hearted, generous, overly grateful, compassionate, loyal and hardworking man. Many have said he would have given the shirt off his back to help someone else. He experienced emotion deeply, often wearing it on his shoulders, but the one emotion he couldn't seem to experience was feeling loved; Loved by others or loved by himself.

David proudly served in the United States Air Force for almost 9 years as a Surgical Service Specialist then transitioned to his civilian career as a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist. Physicians asked for David by name because of his experience, the vast amount of knowledge he brought to the bedside, as well as how he kept his patients safe. David was a highly skilled worker, intelligent, and truly cared for his patients. He saved many lives but the one life he couldn't save was his own.

A visitation for family and friends to celebrate David's life will be held at Schertz Funeral Home Monday, December 5th. Please join us when you can between 4:00-8:00pm

Graveside services to be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at 9:45am at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery with a reception at Stone Werks Lincoln Heights to follow at 10:45am.

In lieu of flowers, family request donations be made to David's Memorial Fund. Donations are made to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention - http://afsp.donordrive.com/campaign/DavidGille
