Darlyne Schulz

Darlyne Joy Schulz was called home to be with her Lord on October, 6, 2012. She was born Darlyne Joy Mason, on November 29, 1940, in San Antonio, Texas. Darlyne was a graduate of Highlands High School. She is survived by her two daughters, Kathy Gordon and Debra Major and husband Ken, brother; Richard Mason, two grandchildren Jordan and Michael, and numerous nieces and nephews. Darlyne worked for the federal government for more than twenty years as an executive assistant, retiring from Randolph AFB in 2004. She enjoyed an active and fulfilling life centered on her family and many friends. She always played a big role in helping her mother, Wilma, with many birthday parties and holiday celebrations they so often hosted. She was a huge Elvis Presley fan and had a special love for dogs. Later in life she resided at Heartland Nursing Home where her craft skills were displayed throughout the rooms of the home, many being chosen to be in the annual calendar. Her friendly, selfless, and outgoing personality was always welcomed by the many nurses, residents and their families. Darlyne was a loving mother, grandmother, caring sister, and friend to so many will be missed by all who had the honor and privilege to know and love her. Her shining light has not dimmed but has just moved higher in the heavens. In lieu of flowers family ask that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association in honor of Darlyne. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the Schertz Funeral Home chapel. The funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at 10:00am at the Schertz Funeral Home chapel, with the interment to follow at San Fernando Cemetery No.3
