Darla Cox

Darla Jean Cox was taken into the arms of our Lord on February 2nd 2016. She was a resident of Universal City and a member of the city's United Methodist Church for the past 49 years. A Summa Cum Laude graduate of Southwest Texas State University, Darla was a gifted artist, florist, and Master Gardener who held a deep appreciation for the beauty of God's creations. She was a warm and loving person who selflessly devoted much of her life providing comfort and care to the sick and aging of her family, friends, and neighbors. She was preceded in passing by her parents Tom and Imogene Pharo and her beloved husband of 49 years, Waynne Cox. She is survived by her brother Tom, her three sons Michael, James, and Kenneth, and five granddaughters. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday, February 12th at the United Methodist Church in Universal City, Pastor Linda Baumheckel, Lay Ministers Bob Buck and Lenny Dagg officiating. Interment will be a 10:00 AM on Monday, February 15th at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Universal City Methodist Church in Memory of Darla Jean Cox.
