Daniel Black

December 31, 1959 — October 3, 2016

Daniel Paul Black, born December 31, 1959 (New Year's Eve baby) in Lorain, OH, passed away on October 3, 2016 at the age of 56, in Schertz TX. He is survived by his wife Betty Black, son Bryan Black, mother Margaret Black; 2 brothers, 3 sisters and several brothers in law and sisters in law, and numerous nieces and nephews. Daniel enlisted into the US Air Force at the age of 18, at Lackland Air Force Base for basic training; he then was stationed at Randolph Air Force Base for 4 years as a computer programmer. After honorably discharged from the Air Force he went to work for USAA where he retired from after 28 years. He spent the next 5 years working for Hewlett Packard as an IT consultant. Daniel was diagnosed with stage 4 Lung Cancer in March of 2015. He fought courageously and remained positive and in good spirits. He enjoyed spending time with family, traveling, and bowling. He was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan as well as the San Antonio Spurs. He was a loving and caring husband and father with the most generous heart and will be truly missed. May he rest in peace. A memorial graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2016, 11:00am, at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
