Dakota Lamar Wright

Dakota Lamar Wright, aka “Koda Banks” or his childhood nickname “Pooh”, was tragically taken from us on September 21, 2024 at 12:30am. Dakota was 28 years old and resided in Universal City with his son Jayden and lost his life on I35 in Selma, Texas. Dakota was born in Round Rock, Texas at the Round Rock hospital on February 12, 1996. His parents are Glenn Wright and Michelle Mcknight. 

 He grew up in a loving home where there was never a dull moment. He always had a love for superheroes, so much so that when he was a child he would form a superhero group with his young sisters, wearing pillow cases as capes and fighting crime. His love for superheroes has grown and was passed on to his young son bringing adventure and wonder to his world. 

 Dakota graduated from New Braunfels High school where he found his passion for creating music. His first performance was at a little teenage hang out called Harmony Sweets and since then his passion grew creating music that would be remembered by his friends and family for years to come. 

Dakota is survived by his beautiful son Jayden Wright, his loving father, Glenn Wright, his 9 siblings, Corey Wright, Chelsea Wright, Cameron Wright, Donovan Wright, Halley Wright, Raven Wright, Phoenix Wright, Bailey Wright, Deacon Wright, his high school sweetheart Jessica Sanchez and her mom, Sandy Minkina that was like a second mother to him. He has touched so many lives and will be missed by all his friends and family. He is preceded by his mother, Michelle Mcknight, in death and is safe in her embrace. 

A service will be held in honor of Dakota’s memory at Schertz Funeral Home and Crematorium on 2217 FM3009, Schertz, Tx 78154 on October 06, 2024. The public viewing to pay your respects will be from 11am to 1pm and the service will start at 1pm.
