Cpl. Corps

October 8, 1920 — January 25, 2009

Cpl. Pat Osborn, U.S. Army Air Corps, World War II Veteran, age 88, of Marion, peacefully passed away on January 25, 2009. Pat was born on October 8, 1920 to Elmer and Willie Frances (Koepp) Osborn in Pleasanton, Texas. Joined in holy matrimony on May 8, 1943 at Randolph AFB, Pat shared 58 years of his life with his wife, Lucille Fey Osborn. Always fond of the outdoors, Pat enjoyed living in the country on the Fey homestead for over 60 years and his final years in Marion. Friends and family will long remember his friendly smile and quick wit. He enjoyed people, especially children. Being childless himself did not keep him from loving children. He always made special time for his nieces, nephew and great nephews. He also shared his ability with animals. He took in and cared for any stray animal, in any condition, that happened to wonder to his home. He will be remembered as a caring person, able to give of himself unconditionally by always putting the needs of others before his own. Without reservation, he volunteered countless hours of his time and energy toward worthwhile causes, such as VFW, VFW Cooties and Bracken Volunteer Fire Department. He was also an active member of the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, the former Schertz Volunteer Fire Department, the Cibolo Hermann Sons Lodge and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, Selma. He is survived by his brother-in-law and sister-in-law John H. and Fay Fey, nieces Brenda Fey and Gail Gray, along with her husband, John and sons Zane and Bret. Visitation will be held from 5:00PM until 9:00PM with a Rosary being recited at 7:00PM, Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at Schertz Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 4:00PM, Thursday, January 29, 2009 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Selma. Interment will follow, with military honors, at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
