In Loving Memory Candeleria Castro February 2nd, 1933 - March 5th, 2014 Connie Castro age 81, was called home on Wednesday March 5th. She was born on February 2, 1933 in Sebewaing, MI to the late Santos and Consuelo Martinez. She was one 13 children, married and moved to Pontiac, MI in 1954. Connie worked various places before retiring from General Motors and moving to Texas to be with family. Connie enjoyed various activities and hobbies including bowling, gardening, dancing,reading and was an avid card player. She loved to cook and anyone who visited her never went away without a meal and a hug. She enjoyed her retirement and pursued those same hobbies while visiting family, especially her great-grandchildren and friends in Texas and Michigan. Surviving are 4 children, John, Helen, Ramona and Veronica residing in Converse, Texas; 10 grandchildren, Santos, Candeleria, Frank, Antonio, Angela, Stephen, Joseph, Gabriel, Randall, and Robert; 14 great-grandchildren; 5 sisters, Emily, Louise, Consuelo, Sara and Irene and a brother Frank who reside in both Texas and Michigan with many more beloved nieces, nephews and caring relatives. Connie lived in Michigan then retired to Texas in 1989. Preceding her in death were her parents, 4 brothers; Albert, Robert, Paul, and Santos and 2 sisters Olivia and Natalia. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 10, 2014 at 12:00noon, with a Memorial service to be celebrated at 1:00 pm at the Schertz Funeral Home Chapel.
