Colette Knowles

Colette Kostelnik Clauss Knowles, born on May 18, 1938 passed away on March 15, 2018, at the age of 79 years. She was born in Hobson, Texas to Alois Charles and Constance Mary (Rohan) Kostelnik, whose families originated from Czechoslovakia. Colette graduated in 1956 from Providence High School in San Antonio, Texas. Her early employers included Aztec Tile, Bacon Tile and Associates Tile of San Antonio, Texas. She then began employment with the United States Federal Civil Service where she worked at Fort Sam Houston, Lackland AFB, Kelly AFB and retired from Randolph AFB in 2006. Colette was of the Catholic faith and attended services at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Schertz, Texas. She cared deeply for her family, loved cats, cooking, and baking.

Colette is survived by her husband of 43 years, Kenneth L. Knowles, sisters, Gloria Reininger and Judy Dorantes, children, Eileen C. Harris, Spencer Clauss, Jr., Keith Knowles, and Dawn Franks, grandchildren, Nicole Harris, Dustin Harris, Tyler Knowles, Joshua Clauss, Hannah Clauss and Jennifer Clauss, and numerous nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren. Colette is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Gerion Kostelnik, and son in law, Charlie M. Harris.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in memory of Colette on March 23, 2018 at 10:00am, at The Church of the Good Shepherd, 1065 E. Live Oak, Schertz, with Father Ed Pavlicek presiding. A small reception/gathering will take place at the church afterwards. The family request in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made in memory of Colette to CASA of Central Texas.
