Clyde Saunders

November 8, 1938 — August 13, 2013

Chief Master Sargent Clyde Sandy Saunders, 74, (Ret.), of San Antonio, TX, went to be with the Lord on August 13, 2013, after a long valiant battle with cancer. Sandy, who was born in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, served in the United States Air Force for 28 years and 10 subsequent years in Civil Service. He was a devoted husband and father who always placed The Lord and his family first. Sandy was married for 54 years to his loving and devoted wife, Dorothy Saunders. He is also survived by his six children: Clyde Saunders, Angela Saunders-Hudspeth, Carlton Saunders, Cassandra Hemphill (Trey), Cornel Saunders (Jennifer), Clayton Saunders, thirteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Siblings included Regina Adderly (William), Helen Franks (Degrando) & Rev. Hayward Saunders. Sandy was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert & Louise Saunders and six siblings. Sandy was a dedicated father who took great pride in his children. As the patriarch, his heart-felt proverbs of Grace before supper will be missed and never equaled. The same can be said about the time and effort he offered in being the best family-man possible.
