Clifford Brummett, Sr., also known as, Hard Rock, Cliff, Uncle Cliffy, and Papaw, was born on February 28, 1937, in Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away on December 26, 2015, in Schertz, Texas, at the age of 78. After serving four years in the Navy, Cliff turned wrenches both as a mechanic and as a hobby with his father, Eugene. In the late 70's, he became a truck driver, running both long and short haul routes over the years. He remained a truck driver until his retirement in June 2004, when he became a full- time grandfather. Clifford is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Olive Viola Brummett; and siblings, Dorothy Lillian Sawyer and Walter Howard Brummett, Sr. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Clara Jacqueline Brummett "Jackie"; sons, Clifford Eugene Brummett, Jr. "Kip", and Bryan Scott Brummett and his wife, Zelda Annis Brummett; siblings, Edward Harold Brummett and Shirley Jean Klendshoj; grandchildren, Kirstina Kathryn Tomerlin, Leticia Imelda Martinez, Larissa Celeste Faery, Christopher Andres Brummett, and Quincie Claralynne Brummett; great grandchildren, Jonathan Keith Martinez, Jr., Elaina Cheyenne Tomerlin, Sarita Annis Martinez, and Jolene Clementine Tomerlin. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 11, 2016, from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM, at Schertz Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any memorial donations be made to one of Cliff's favorite charities - American Heart Association, American Lung Association, Disabled American Veterans, or Wounded Warrior Project.
