Clark Sadler

July 5, 1950 — December 17, 2016

Corky Sadler of Bigfoot, Texas passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2016 in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 66. He was born to Clark D. and Hazel Sadler in Pearsall, Texas on July 5, 1950. He was a faithful Christian and member of the Bigfoot Church of Christ. He graduated from Devine High School in 1968. He met Sharron at "The Spot" in Devine in 1969. On July 25, 1970, Corky began a 46-year marriage with his love. He had a never-ending love for sports, especially basketball and football. While in high school, he participated in football, baseball, track and, of course, his favorite, basketball. His passion for sports carried over to his children and grandchildren. He was willing to travel anywhere to support his family and hometown team. Corky will be remembered for his ability to make people laugh, to lend an ear, or to provide a good shoulder to cry on whenever or wherever it was needed. He never met a stranger and he was always ready to tell a good joke or to listen to one. He was never short on words and loved to talk to anyone about anything. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend. Corky is preceded in death by his mother, Hazel Sadler. He is survived by his loving wife, Sharron, sons Justin Sadler of Bigfoot, Dwight (Angela) Sadler of Hutto, Texas, Joseph Andrew (Erika) Sadler of Devine, and daughter Hollie (Matt) Counts of Austin, Texas; grandchildren Jacob Sadler, Joseph Anson Sadler, Jenna Sadler, Logan Sadler, Landon Sadler, Levi Sadler, Ty Sadler, Drew Sadler, Trey Sadler, McKenna Counts, Hailyn Counts and Harper Counts; father, Clark D. Sadler and wife, Nancy; sister, Tudy Evans of Live Oak, Texas as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In celebration of his life on earth, a gathering of friends and family will take place on Friday, December 23, 2016 at 10:00 AM, at the First Baptist Church in Devine, Texas. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Corky's Memory to Devine High School Scholarship Fund.
