Clarence Leroy "Jim" Wollslager passed away on June 3, 2016, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 86. Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Viola Wollslager; wife, Shirley Monthie Wollslager; wife, Betty Lou Timberlake Wollslager. He is survived by his c hildren, Melanie Dehning (Mervin) of Alma, Kansas, Julie Anderson (Steven) of Bay City, Wisconsin, John Wollslager (Eilene) of Cibolo, Texas; siblings, Flora Wollslager Ackerly of East Northport, New York; Nineteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Jim graduated from Valparaiso University with a B.S. in chemistry in 1952. He served two years during the Korean War as an Army communication specialist. He worked as a chemist and plant manager in the cement industries for 20 years and then worked as a financial planner for an additional 30 years. He married Shirley Monthie in 1957 and they remained married until her death in 1988. He remarried Betty Timberlake Kerley in 1994 and they were married until her death in 2015. He was an active member of the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church in leadership and choir throughout his life. His hobbies included a life-long interest in coin collecting. A college athlete, he was active in bowling, tennis, golf and gardening throughout his life. In later years he loved travelling, visiting all 50 states, Europe, Central America and the Holy Land. Jim loved his Lord Jesus Christ, his church and his family. His positive outlook on life made him a favorite of those who knew him. He was a devoted father and grandfather, well-loved by nieces, nephews and grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that any memorial donations be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and the Alzheimer's Association.
