Clarence Dale Bain, age 86, of Marion, Texas, passed away on May 6, 2023 after a brief illness.
Dale was born to Clarence Wesley Bain and Marjorie Bain (Moore) in Phoenix Arizona on July 17, 1936. He spent much of his childhood working with his siblings and parents on family dairy farms. Journalism, FFA, debate, and speech figured large in his years at Texas’s Brenham High School, after which he attended Texas A & M University, and then joined the U.S. Army. He soon found himself in Germany where he met his wife, Gertraud Matt.
Dale served a combined 45 years in the U.S. Army and U.S. Army Veterinary Corp, primarily as a Food Safety Inspector and Instructor. During this time he developed nationally recognized curriculum standards still in use today.
He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Andrew Rush, Dolores Dues and Marjorie Oman. Dale is survived by his beloved wife Gertraud Bain, sons Michael (spouse Meeka), Andrew (spouse Lari), daughter Denice (spouse Mary), grandchildren Emily (spouse Jeff), Anthony (spouse Stephanie), Lauren (spouse Mark), and Brandon, as well as five adored great-grandchildren. His faith carried him through to the end, and his love lives on in his family.
