Christine Chrissy Elizabeth Scott was born to Guy E. & Rosemary (Taylor) Scott on October 1, 1989 in San Antonio, Texas. She passed away on April 19, 2010 in San Marcos, Texas at the age of 20. Chrissy is survived by her parents, Guy & Rosemary Scott of Schertz; her grandparents, Virginia Scott of Cibolo and William Taylor of San Antonio; brothers Robert & Billy Scott, both of Schertz and Joey Scott of West Point, New York and numerous aunts, uncles & cousins. Chrissy was a straight-A student and a member of the Mitte Honors program at Texas State University where she majored in Journalism and Mass Communications. She was the recipient of several scholarships including the prestigious TAB Scholarship for aspiring broadcasters and journalists. Chrissy was truly a remarkable girl, and she won her first award in a baby beauty pagaent at the age of 1, she could read before she attended school, was accepted in the gifted and talented program upon entering elementary school; she won first place in two city-wide writing contests in both first and second grade, she was district spelling bee champion in fourth grade, and she became the youngest person to serve on the San Antonio Express News Teen Advisory Council when she turned 13. At both Corbett and Clemens she served on the Yearbook Staff and was a contributor to the school newspapers. At Samuel Clemens High School she was part of the IB program, and she graduated from high school early (Alison Steele) and registered in the San Antonio College System when most of her friends were still in their senior year. She transferred to Texas State in 2008, and was a model student. In addition to her scholastic abilities, Chrissy was a charming, charasmatic person with a sparkling personality who possessed a fine sense of humor, and a genuine capacity for love and caring. She was a firm Christian who was not hesitant to share her faith and stand up for what she believed in. She was loved by many and will be deeply missed. She is now with her Lord and Savior. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Sunday, April 25, 2010 at Schertz Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 PM on Monday, April 26, 2010 at the Valley View Seventh Day Adventist Church, 6630 FM 1516, San Antonio, Texas 78109, (210) 656-777, with Pastor Bill Hunt officiating. Interment will follow at a later date.
