Childers "Chuck" Newsome was born July 24, 1926 in Beaver, Kentucky and passed away on December 23, 2013 in San Antonio, Texas. He is preceded in death by parents, Ezra and Ella Newsome, daughter, Janet Lee Newsome, grandson, Travis Keith Newsome, great-grandson, Kaden Newsome, and brothers, Townzil, Elzie and Ray Newsome. Chuck is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ila Lee Newsome; sons, Michael Newsome and wife, Peggy; Robert Newsome and wife, Sheila; daughters, Sharon Wolf and Eric Giesel, and Dawna Newsome and husband, Allen Shipp; grandchildren, Jarrod, Tiffany, Courtney, Shaun, Martin, Jeremiah, Michael Robert, Garrett, Bridget, Megan, Chelsea, Silvan, III, Madison, Austin, Skylar, and Samantha; and 8 great-grandchildren. Chuck had a long and productive military career and continued his work dedication in his civilian life as a marketing representative in sales. He was an outstanding husband and father and his family meant everything to him. Chuck will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, February 7, 2014 at 11:15 at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado.
