Charlie "Chuck" Anthony Lopez, 83, passed away, Tuesday, February 20, 2018, in his home in Schertz , Texas.
Charlie was born November 8, 1934 in Los Angeles, California to Helen Loretta Ceci and Carlos Antonio Lopez, both of whom preceded him in death. He served in the United States Air Force for 25 years, retiring as a Master Sergeant. Charlie was a committed Elk for more than 36 years and was recently granted Life Membership. His designations include P.E.R., Past D.D.G.E.R., and Past State President. At the time of his death, Charlie was an active member of the New Braunfels Lodge BPOE 2279 and Knights of Columbus Council 6358. In addition to his military service and passion for Elks, U.S.A, Charlie was an avid golfer, devoted husband, and proud father.
Charlie is survived by his wife of 46 years, Madeline; two daughters, Lori Gundersen and husband, Steve, Joni Stewart and husband, Michael; two sons, Tony Lopez and fiancée , Michelle, and Eric Lopez; 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, Texas.
