Charles Anthony Zimmerman, born August 5, 1947 in San Antonio, TX, passed away on April 6, 2019, at the age of 71. Charles is preceded in death by his parents John L., Jr, and Geraldine Zimmerman, and brother, Andrew Lee Zimmerman. He is survived by his siblings, John L Zimmerman, III, Michael J. Zimmerman, Katherine Zimmerman, and Mary Ann Jansky, also numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family members, including his beloved dog and best friend Cody. He was known to his friends and loved ones as Charlie or Chuck.
Charles proudly served in the Army National Guard from December 1966 through December 1972.
His career work was in Sales and Advertising, but his passion was always being with family and friends.
Charles was also an avid fan of baseball, golf, fishing, and music. His favorite teams were the Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys, and the Texas Aggies. On his birthday in 2006, he scored a "Hole in One" while playing golf with his brother John.
His love for music was derived from the enormous musical talent of his father and mother, and Charles became an accomplished keyboard player, often playing with groups such as Augie Meyers and Moe Bandy.
Charles lived in the Arlington, TX area for many years but was always ready for a trip to Port Aransas for an exciting fishing trip.
Charles will always be remembered for his jovial personality and his love of life, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
