Charles Scott

Lt. Commander Charles (Chuck) Scott, United States Navy, Retired, 69, a resident of Schertz, TX, previously of Aransas Pass, TX, died on April 1, 2010 at Brooke Army Medical Center after a long illness. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sandy; his children, Mary Jo Blair of Castalia, OH, Carole Moulton of Escondido, CA, Janet Callison of Schertz, TX and Charles (Scotty) Scott of Sandusky, Ohio; his mother, Evelyn Rodgers of Wichita, KS; his sisters, Dixie Roe of Mission, KS, Marge Stucky of Wichita, KS and Vernon P. Scott of Glens Falls, NY; and his 9 grandchildren and his 7 great- grandchildren. Chuck was a veteran of Vietnam. He served 24 years in the US Navy, enlisted in 1957 and achieved the rank of LT. Commander. Chuck earned many awards including the Bronze Star for heroism in Vietnam. Chuck was also in Law Enforcement in the State of California for over 10 years. Chuck and his wife, Sandy, traveled for many months after his retirement where he wanted to see this great Country from Alaska to all the lower 49 states and Hawaii. His love of life and his powerful presence were felt everywhere he went. He was very well cared for in his last year of life at Autumn Winds in Schertz, TX. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at Schertz Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:15 AM on Thursday, April 8, 2010 at the Schertz Funeral Home Chapel. Interment, with full military honors, will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to the Activity Dept. of Autumn Winds Retirement Lodge in Schertz, TX.
