Charles Reid, Jr

Charles "Charlie" A. Reid, Jr., born on June 21, 1930 in Boston, MA, passed away on September 7, 2016 at his home in Schertz, TX at the age of 86. He is preceded in death by his parents Charles A. Sr. and Helen Reid; and brothers Paul and Raymond. Charles is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Jo Beth Reid; sons, Charles Scott and Chad H. Reid; siblings Bruce, John, and Bill Reid; and grandchildren Chad Ryan Reid, Jordan Reid, and Kendall Reid. As a young man he competed in his hometown Boston Marathon, was a Water Safety Instructor, held a brown belt in Judo, and was a talented furniture-maker. Charlie retired from the US Air Force after 24 years of distinguished service in 1970. After his military service he spent 10 years with New York Life Ins. Co. before joining the Dabney Group in 1982. In 1991 he formed and ran the family business, Enviro-Tech Consultants, with his wife and sons, until his untimely stroke in 2002. He was the president and member of the Judson ISD school board from 1970 until 1985, he was also the president and member of the Randolph Area Rotary Club. He and his wife were also avid Volksmarchers. Visitation will be held
