Charles Powers

Charles Andy Powers, age 41, passed away on October 18, 2016 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born to Carl and Arlene Powers on March 9, 1975 in Tampa, Florida. Charles was an avid NASCAR car fan. His love of racing lead him to attend several racing venues, but his favorite was always Daytona International speedway. A moment of time he always treasured was being in victory lane, watching Dale Earnhardt race to victory for the second time in his career at the Pepsi 400 at Daytona International speedway in 1993. During racing season he lived for Sundays as it was "Race Day" and those around him frequently heard his favorite saying " rubbin is racing". Not only did he love his racing, he found tranquility in fishing. Charles would spend hours on the water's edge just waiting to catch "the big one". He was preceded in death by his grandparents. Charles is survived by his children: Jessica T. Powers and Joel C. Powers; parents Carl and Arlene Powers; brother: Randall Powers & wife, Diana; niece: Robin Powers; mother of Jessica and Joel, Kristie Powers; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, other family members and friends. A Funeral Service will be held at 7:00PM on Friday, October 21, 2016 at the Schertz Funeral Home Chapel, with Visitation immediately before the service from 5:00-7:00PM.
