Charles R. (Chuck) Middleton passed into his heavenly home December 27, 2024 at the age of 86 at his home in Schertz, Texas. Fondly known as Chuck to most, he was lovingly called “Bud” by his siblings, nieces and nephews. Chuck was born in Lamesa, Texas on September 2, 1938 to TJ and Fannie Middleton.
Chuck was a life-long sports fan and especially loved baseball. As an adult he coached in the Windcrest Little League and umpired the All-Star Games. He loved his family and supported them in all their activities. He attended all the Roosevelt High School baseball and football games when his own children were young and later proudly attended his grandkids games. Chuck had the best sense of humor and joking with the grandkids was something he (and they) loved. He was very proud to be a retiree of Frost Bank where he had a long and stellar career. After retirement he volunteered his financial skills to his church where he served as Treasurer of the First Baptist Church of Schertz for many years.
Upon his passing he was a member of the First Baptist Church Universal City where he enjoyed singing in the church choir. Chuck loved music and would often be found singing and dancing to his favorite songs. One of his most cherished memories was his visit to Graceland to see where his favorite singer, Elvis Presley lived. As a young adult Chuck proudly served in the United States Army until 1959. Shortly after he met and soon married the love of his life, Ella Mae, in Lubbock, Texas on May 20, 1961. Chuck is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 63 years Ella Mae, his son Jeff (wife Debbie) and daughter Felicia (husband Rex). Additionally, three grandchildren, Kylie (husband Josh) Teagan and Justin, two great grandchildren Joella and Kashton and his beloved dog, a Yorkie named Yogi. He is also survived by his sister, Cooter and sister-in-law Patty and three nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother Marshall, brother-in-law Jerry and niece Lynn.
